Special Problems is the name of the super talented multi-disciplinary creative power duo Campbell Hooper and Joel Kefali. Although they also work across print and web I'm most impressed by their music video stuff. Check below and you'll see what I'm getting at. Awesome.

Jason Hackenwerth creates bizarre looking animals that look like they’ve been pulled from either the depths of his imagination or bottom of the ocean. We’re not quite sure which.

These are works of Japanese painter Tetsuya Ishida. He painted scenes of ordinary Japanese life, but with the protagonist (a self portrait) always trapped in a machine-like body, or treated as part of a production line.
Tetsuya Ishida died in 2005 after being hit by a train (possibly suicide).
